We were excited to check into Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort the day after it opened. Not only did the tower add new rooms, but it also added a beautiful new lobby, a restaurant, and 2 lounges.
We really loved the style and décor in the lobby of the tower. I particularly love the style of the columns and all the lamps.
We also really liked the elevators. After checking in, the cast member helping us walked us to the elevators and showed us how they worked. You select the floor you’re headed to on the touchscreen outside the elevator and then it tells you which elevator to take. We thought this was really efficient.
One of the lounges, Barcelona Lounge, is located on the lower level of the lobby. The other, Dahlia Lounge, is located across from Toledo- Tapas, Steak, & Seafood on the top floor of the tower. The rooftop features large windows in the lounge and restaurant and there is also a balcony as well. As you might imagine, the rooftop offers a fantastic view. The fireworks from both Epcot and Hollywood Studios can also be seen.
For our room, we just went with the standard room. As far as size and setup go, the standard tower room is pretty similar to the original rooms. The main difference is the bathroom and fact that there is a small entryway.
We booked a room with 2 beds and there was a nightstand in between the beds. Across from the beds there is a chair, the wall mounted TV, and a long desk with a chair.
The door to the bathroom is to one side of the entryway right as you walk in. They are fully enclosed. The vanity is not separate like in the original rooms. The bathroom featured plenty of space and a really nice shower. I also really liked the accents on the backsplashes of the vanity and shower.
I would love to stay at the Gran Destino Tower again but in a room with club lounge access.
