Day 2 of the Abilene CALF was full of readings, crafts, instruments, characters, and more Italian Ice.
We started our day at the Instrument Petting Zoo. If you’ve been following along with the posts from other years, you’ll know that this is one of the boys’ favorite activities.
After that, we headed to a reading of The Sailor Dog and The Three Little Kittens. The boys made sailor dog hats after the reading.
Once the reading was over, we went to Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice for an Italian Ice. Then we went to another reading at the NCCIL and then to see Nancy and Her Friends. This was a new puppet/ventriloquist show that was added to the CALF lineup that year.
After eating lunch at the Beehive Restaurant & Saloon, we went to some more readings. One of them was at The Grace Museum and the boys made clay pigs.
Our last stop for the day was the Garth Williams’ characters meet and greet.
