Connor loves going to Wild Days at Sea World. Every year during Wild Days, they have dining with Jungle Jack Hanna and I’ve always wanted to book it but never had. This year I finally made a reservation for the Picnic with Jack Hanna. We loved it! It was so much fun and the boys loved meeting and learning about the animals.
After checking in for the picnic, we headed back to the picnic area. It was the same area that we had been to before when we did Dinner with Rudolph and friends but it looked different without the cover around the pavilion. There were covered pavilions to sit at as well as non covered picnic tables.
As we walked up, the first building on the left was where the food was so we stopped there first before finding a table. The food was set up buffet style. There were rice, beans, tortillas, beef and chicken fajitas, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and cookies.
After getting our plate, we went to sit down under one of the pavilions. There were self serve soda fountains at each pavilion. Soon after we began eating, the animals started to arrive. Of course the boys were super excited to go see the animals so we went right away. I wanted to finish my taco but I figured we could go see some of them and then I could come back and finish eating.
Since there was no one in line to see the lemur, we went there first. After that we went over to see the kangaroo joey. Her name was JoJo and she was the boys’ favorite. They loved her.
The boys wanted to go see the sloth next so I went to finish my taco and then we went to the sloth. We barely made it back to her because she was just about to leave so we didn’t get to see her on her tree branch but at least we got to see her real quick. A few minutes after the sloth left, an echidna was brought to the spot so we went to get in line to see him but when we got there another animal came out next to him so we met him first since there was a bit of a line for the echidna. He was a Palm Civet named Toddy.
After Toddy, we went to see the echidna. The boys liked petting her but she didn’t like to stay put so they had to follow her.
After the echidna there were only 2 animals that we hadn’t met yet, the snake and the owl.
Once we were done meeting the animals, we got in line to meet Jack Hanna. We were one of the last groups to meet him. He was really nice and spent time talking with everyone and signing autographs.
We had so much fun at this picnic and we will definitely be doing it again next year. We might try the dinner option though instead.
Have you ever dined with Jungle Jack Hanna?
