We headed out to the Gaylord Texan for our second day in Grapevine.
We had been the year before for ICE!, snow tubing, and ice skating but I discovered that they had something new for 2017, Santa’s Christmas Cottage Escape Room. We love escape rooms and a Christmas themed one sounded like a lot of fun.
There were two cottages but both were identical. Before we started the game, everyone that had booked that time slot was split into two groups. Our group went into cottage #1. Before going into the cottage to start the game we watched a video with instructions from one of Santa’s elves and were given a few tools to help during the game. The game was played in 3 separate rooms and we had to find clues in each room in order to unlock the door to the next room. The ultimate goal was to find Santa’s missing golden key and escape the cottage, which we did. We were also racing against the other team and I think we beat them out.
After the escape room we went snow tubing. The boys had really loved snow tubing the year before so I thought it would be fun to do it again.
The Gaylord Texan has so many other Christmas activities to check out too. We only spent a few hours here this time but you can easily spend the whole day and the activities here are just part of what makes Grapevine the Christmas Capital of Texas.
