The boys and I started out on a mission to visit different ice cream places in and around San Antonio throughout the summer. We decided to start out at Brindle’s Awesome Ice Cream.
Brindle’s serves both ice cream and gelato. Connor loves gelato and I expected that’s what he would order. He actually ended up getting a sorbet and didn’t even try a sample of any of the gelatos. He ordered the Tropical Papaya sorbet and JT went with the Mango Tango sorbet. Connor said that he had actually wanted the Mango Tango, but since his brother ordered it, he went with something different. I had the Fredericksburg Peach Cobbler.
Connor actually ended up loving the Tropical Papaya even more than the Mango Tango. The boys were ready to order more when they were done and they normally don’t even finish their ice cream. I enjoyed my ice cream also. I decided to go with the Fredericksburg Peach Cobbler because the employee helping us recommended it. She also said it was one of the popular flavors at the time. I didn’t care for the chunks of peach that were in the ice cream because they didn’t really have any flavor but the ice cream itself was really good.
One of the things we noticed as we were eating our ice cream was that Brindles also serves ice cream tacos. We figured we would need to go back to try one of those. Another ice cream I’ve read about that I would love to try is their Azteca ice cream. We will back eventually but for now we have a lot more ice cream shops to try out. Our next stop is Justin’s Ice Cream.
