Are you looking for something fun to do before the kids go back to school? Look no further than San Antonio’s 4th annual Kidcation Week!
During this special week, the Alamo City rolls out the red carpet for its youngest visitors and residents, and transforms into a citywide playground for kids of all ages. Kidcation Week, presented by Our Kids Magazine, allows families to create lifelong memories and have one last summer hurrah before the kids head back to school.
Kidcation Week kicks off today, Saturday August 6th, at Hemisfair’s Yanaguana Gardens. The Kidcation Kick Off Event, held from 9am-2pm, is an event that you do not want to miss. This free kick off event is open to the general public and will feature live music, free activities, balloon artistry, face painting, a bouncy house, games and prizes at the heart of San Antonio’s newest landscaped outdoor wonderland. Coolers are not permitted but there will be food vendors and snacks will be available to purchase.
Kidcation Week will last from August 6th-August 13th. Throughout the entire week children of all ages will enjoy exclusive programming including demonstrations and free entertainment. Parents looking to stretch vacation funds will appreciate the money-saving deals offered by local businesses, as well as special summertime events designed just for kids and their families. Special deals from participating attractions and restaurants include: Majestic Theatre, San Antonio Zoo, San Antonio Aquarium, Battle for Texas, Dave & Buster’s, Kiddie Park, America’s Incredible Pizza Company, The Witte Museum, Top Golf, Natural Bridge Caverns, and San Antonio Botanical Garden, among others.
Some of the other events occurring during Kidcation Week include the Summer Movie Series at Rolling Oaks Mall, $5 Frenzy as Kiddie Park, Summer Send Off Weekend at Retama, and the Davy Crockett Birthday Celebration at Battle for Texas-The Experience. Make sure to check out www.kidcationweek.com for the complete list of events and deals.
