This is a little off topic for what I normally write about on here but I wanted to share an event happening tonight in honor of Fashion Week San Antonio. I participated in the very first San Antonio Fashion Week a couple of years ago as well as numerous other fashion shows here in San Antonio but I’ve never sat in the audience and watched a fashion show. I’m hoping to be able to attend this one tonight.
The free event tonight starts at 6:30pm with drinks and hors d’oeuvres and the fashion show starts at 8pm. The event is located at Emme Nail Spa in the Elan. Emme is also having their grand opening as well.
The fashion show will include student designers from the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW); Svelte by Valerie Velazquez with Celestino Couture and launching her 2016 Spring/Summer line will be Fashion Designer Lauren Nicole.
This event will be the first show for Lauren Nicole and will debut her new La Floraison des Fleurs Boutique Collection, which translates into “the blossoming of flowers” in French. The collection features shimmering gold, light airy ivories, and blooming blushes. Lauren Nicole’s first collection is made for the timeless woman, no matter what age and is inspired by romantic Parisian and French culture and destinations. The line features an even balance of clean lines and romantic silhouettes to provide women with a timeless look and will provide everyone with the needed closet staples to take you into spring and summer.
15-year-old High School Sophomore, Lauren Nicole is a native of San Antonio, Texas. In the past 3 years Lauren Nicole has grown her social media presence by writing a fashion, style, and beauty blog located on lauren-Nicole.com. She has molded and learned her craft for the past 5 years, by attending Fashion Camp NYC; which pairs student designers with Professional designers, textile makers, brand, and marketing executives to help introduce Fashion and Design to the aspiring designer. Most recently, she was one of three designers selected for the Marisol Deluna Foundation as a 2014-2015 recipient. During her time with the foundation, Lauren Nicole traveled to New York City to learn the fashion trade from New York fashion designer Marisol Deluna and assisted with production, styling, and dressing for the Marisol Deluna New York 25th Anniversary Runway Show in San Antonio, Texas.
Lauren Nicole when asked who she designs for, “the clothing is not made for a set age or demographic, my only goal is to design so that anyone that wears these clothes feels beautiful and timeless in them.”
If you have the time and are in San Antonio, I encourage you to go check out the show.
