Last month Sea World San Antonio held the Seven Seas Food Festival. I love food festivals so I had to go. We were able to make it to Sea World three times during the festival. The first time we went was the opening weekend of the festival.
I initially wanted to get the cashless wristband but it was just a paper wristband and you had to put in a certain amount of money so I decided against that. One of the employees informed me that she thought the best thing to do was to get one of the lanyard so I looked into that and used that the next time. You could purchase either a food sampler or a food and wine sampler. The food sampler got you six food items and the food and wine sampler got you three food items, three wine samples and a wine glass. This definitely seemed to be the best way to go.
Our first stop was the Gulf of Mexico which included Mexico and Cuba. We also ended up going back to this one at each visit. Connor said the street tacos were his favorite.
We also went to the wine & cheese area and got the cheese sampler. For some reason when I went up to order and asked for a cheese sampler the cashier asked me “Are you going to buy it?”. I thought that was a weird question. I was kind of wondering if I looked like I wasn’t planning on paying or if she just asks that to everyone that orders?
The last stop on our first day was Greece in the Mediterranean. We got the Glazed Lamb Burger from here. On the last day I also tried to get the quail but they were out of everything but the lamb burger.
The only new place we made it to on our second visit was the Caribbean which was Jamaica.
The last day we went was the very last day of the festival. I promised Connor we would go see Pets Ahoy! so we went straight there. We both thought that Pets Ahoy! was going to be a 3D movie because that is what used to be in the Sea Star Theater but it was an actual show and it was super cute. What I hadn’t realized though was that the park closed at 6pm. I didn’t bother to check the times and I just assumed it would close at like 9pm or something. So, we ended up having to pack a lot of food into the last 30 minutes because I had gotten another food sampler lanyard which I wouldn’t have gotten if I had known it was almost going to close.
This time we started at the South Atlantic- Brazil & Argentina- where we got the Empanadas.
Next up was Japan and Korea in the Pacific.
We also made it to Italy in the Mediterranean.
The other two seas were the North Pacific and the North Atlantic. The North Pacific was Cooking with Coke which we never made it to and the North Atlantic was France. The only thing France had was wine… no food. I really liked the festival. I loved trying all the foods. The first day we went the food wasn’t hot but the other two days everything was really good and hot. I think my favorites were the Curry Chicken and Potatoes, Antipasto, and the Tempura Deep Fried Bananas. The guava barbecue sauce that came with the jerk chicken was also really good. I would definitely be interested in going again if they had it next year.
Who else went to the Seven Seas Food Festival? What was your favorite food?
