FarFaria is an app for kids that contains over 800 books and adds 5 new books a week. The app is recommended for kids ages 2-9. Both Connor and JT love this app. When you open up the app it shows you you’re recently read books, new books, and popular now. It also currently has a category for stories for fall and bug out.

The boys looked through the books on the homepage when they first opened up the app but they really enjoy pressing explore and picking an island. When you click on explore you’ll find a map with several different islands. There is Animal Kingdom, Adventure Island, Mt. Make Believe, Fairy Tale Falls, Classics Grove, Bedtime Bluffs, Preschool Playground, Genius Jungle, Goodland, Looney Lagoon, and Sing Along City. The boys’ favorite island is Adventure Island, however, they’ve also been reading stories from Fairy Tale Falls the past two days.

Once kids have chosen a book they have three options for reading it. They can choose auto play, read to me, or read myself. The difference between auto play and read to me is that you have to turn the pages if you choose read to me. Auto play goes through the entire story automatically. You can however pause, exit, or start over for both options.

FarFaria also uses reading levels. Reading levels go from A-S which is Kinder through Grade 4. There is also PK for Pre-K level and songs which don’t have a level. When you open up a book it tells you on the front page what reading level it is. You can the click on it to get a description. There I also a parent section where you can learn more about all of the reading levels.
