We were given a free Square by Square Creative Pattern Game by ThinkFun to review. I was really excited about this because Connor loves tangrams and JT loves puzzles.
As soon as we received it the boys opened it up and started playing. The game is a single player game but you could still take turns or play cooperatively. The game comes with the playing board, blue and green blocks, 60 cards, and a bag to carry it in. The game board has a storage space to hold the cards so along with the bag this a great game to take on the go.
Each of the cards has a different tangram or challenge to complete. If you aren’t familiar with tangrams they are basically a shape or figure made out of other shapes. So, when you pick a card there is one side that shows you the figure you need to make and you have to figure out how to arrange the different shapes in order to make that figure. If you need help you can turn the card over to get a hint. Besides doing the challenges the boys also like to create this own patterns.
I really recommend checking out Square by Square. It’s fun, great for playing anywhere, and helps develop thinking and problem solving skills.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
