When Violet Was Blue is a simple rhyming picture book by Deb Troehler. In my opinion the author did a really great job with this book. It’s easy for kids to follow along with, the rhyming is fun to read, and the illustrations while simple are cute and colorful.

This book has a clever way of teaching kids about rainbows and about working together. The author also adds in some activities at the end to help kids learn more about the colors of the rainbow. I highly recommend this book.
