I’ve been wanting to add in places the boys have already been but I have yet to do it. So, I’ve decided that I’ll add one a week on Fridays and we can call it Flashback Friday. I am however posting the first one today… on a Monday… but look for the rest on Fridays.
We are flashing back to December 2011 and starting off with Showcase of Citrus in Clermont, Florida. Showcase of Citrus is an orange grove. You can pick your own fruit or buy from their store and they also offer eco tours.
I had made reservations ahead of time for the tour so when we got there we looked around the store a bit. Besides the fruit they also have jams, salsa, honey, and other items available including gator jerky.
After that we went outside to wait for the tour to start. The tour takes place on a school bus turned monster truck.
The eco tour starts at the grove and takes you through swamp area and then on to feed oranges to the cows before returning.
The eco tour was a lot of fun and the boys really enjoyed tossing the oranges out to the cows. I’ve tried finding something similar this in other places since we enjoyed it so much but I haven’t been able to find anything.
Once the tour was over we went back to the store to grab a bag and pick some citrus. Since we were there in December there were plenty varieties to choose from.
So that is Showcase of Citrus. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the eco tour as well as picking fruit and I would absolutely recommend visiting.
