Finally I am moving on to Dallas…or Grapevine actually. If you read my posts on Oklahoma City I may have mentioned that after leaving there we were going to stop in Dallas for one night…or maybe I didn’t mention it, I’m not sure.
So, after stopping at Bedre in Oklahoma we drove straight to Rainforest Cafe in the Grapevine Mills Mall.
When we arrived we were seated right away and the boys got kid’s menus and Cha! Cha! (the tree frog) hats.
The food at the Rainforest Cafe has never been memorable to me but this time we decided to order the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was delicious. It was one of the best, if not the best, spinach and artichoke dips I’ve ever had. The boys loved it too; we could’ve used another one.
For our meal the boys shared the kid’s popcorn shrimp and my mom and I shared the fish tacos.
My absolute favorite thing from the meal was the dip but everything was good. The only complaint that I have is that I think there needs to be more of the avocado cream sauce on the fish tacos. It seems like they just drizzle it on at the end when the majority of the taco is already wrapped up and I would have loved to have some sauce inside the taco.
Once we were done eating we looked around the gift shop and the boys bought some monkeys. Here is Connor with his:
This visit to the Rainforest Cafe was ver enjoyable and the food was great. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about Rainforest Cafe but I really like. If you’ve never been to one, I really encourage you to go and just have fun. Yes, it is pricey but I love the theme and it’s fun for the kids. I stated above that before this visit the food has never been memorable to me but this time it was. We will be going to the Rainforest Cafe in Galveston this weekend and I am really looking forward to it. I’m hoping that their spinach and artichoke dip is just as delicious. Hopefully I will post a blog about that Rainforest Cafe sometime next week.
