Just over a week ago we went to Fiesta Texas. It had been years since I’ve been there; I can’t even really remember when the last time I had gone was. My uncle and aunt got the boys season passes and they had bring a friend free coupons for last week so we went.
Just a tip…if you are reading this and you live in San Antonio and have a season pass that comes with a coupon book, on the bring a friend days you can take that coupon directly to the entry. We didn’t know this, so we stood in the line to buy tickets and then they told us that we just needed to go directly to the entry line.
We went on a Thursday and it was pretty crowded. The lines to get in were long and they seem to be pretty slow, especially if you need to purchase tickets. Once we got in Connor wanted to go directly to buy an ICEE. We stopped at the first place that had ICEEs but they didn’t have the green ICEE that he wanted and they were taking long anyways so we moved on to find the place that Connor said had the green ICEEs. All the ICEE places that we passed on the way to the correct place only had 2 flavors…so here’s another tip for you…if you want to be able to pick from a variety of ICEE flavors there seems to be only one place to go and that place is called Bubba’s Burgers. They have 6 different ICEE flavors.
After Connor got his ICEE he said that there was a ride that he wanted to ride so that is where we headed. The ride was the Wave Runner and it is in the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk area. Another tip…Fiesta Bay Boardwalk doesn’t open until noon but if you get there at noon you can ride the Scooby Doo ride with very little wait…otherwise that ride usually gets long lines. In fact Connor didn’t want to ride it because he said the line is always to long so I had to explain to them that since the area just opened there wasn’t many people there. So, first we went to do the Scooby Doo ride and then the boys wanted to “go fishing”. They had one of those carnival games where you get a fishing pole and the fish are spinning around opening and closing their mouth and you have to catch one. The boys actually took a while to catch a fish but eventually they got one. I’m not sure about how any of the other games work but with this one you are basically paying for the prize. The price of the game is $5 and you win a prize no matter what fish you get.
After they got their prizes Connor got to ride on the Wave Runner and then it was time to eat lunch. We went to the pizza place in Rockville. I looked it up and it is called Primo’s Pizzeria. They have a family meal deal for $40. You get a large pizza (cheese or pepperoni), cheesy bread, and 4 drinks. The good thing about the meal is that the pizza is super fresh and hot and it was actually pretty good. The bad thing is that the drinks are so small and you can’t get refills. The breadsticks are also small as well but I didn’t like them anyways.
Once we were done eating Connor decided that he wanted another ICEE but then once he saw the Dippin’ Dots cart he decided he wanted that instead. JT got vanilla and Connor got rainbow. The size of the Dippin’ Dots is actually pretty big and neither one of the boys even finished half.
Once the boys were done with their Dippin’ Dots it was already time to go. We were there a couple of hours but really didn’t do much at all. If we go again I make sure to write about it and possibly take more pictures.
